Vision Statement:
Students at Lynn Road Elementary are leaders, good team players, and creative problem-solvers who are globally aware and prepared to work with a diverse population. Supported by a data driven, comprehensive school counseling program designed to ensure that students become college and career ready, students employ healthy coping skills and successful academic strategies in order to become productive, responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities. Students leave Lynn Road Elementary School recognizing their own self-worth and potential.
Mission Statement:
The mission of the school counseling program at Lynn Road Elementary is to design and implement a comprehensive program that is intentional, equitable, and relevant. The counseling department recognizes and respects the unique qualities of each student and provides services that support students’ academic, personal/social, and career development. Through partnership and collaboration with all stakeholders, the counseling program will strive to empower students to become problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and outstanding citizens of their communities, with the knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values to succeed as life-long learners in a global society.

About Melissa Snow:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill (Go Heels!).
- Master of Arts in Education from Western Carolina University.
- Worked previously for Orange County Schools in Hillsborough, NC.
- Professional areas of interest include equity, mindfulness, and the effects of trauma/stress on mental health.
- Lives in Raleigh with her husband Tom, daughter Harper (8), and son Ward (6).
- Lynn Road Lion since 2014.
